I am excited to introduce a fun new look for the K-Rose Productions website which has been creatively recreated by Marcia Bolsinga of Marcia’s Web.

And now for my first update in over a year – I guess I have been too busy working on films to do much blogging!

OLD?!,completed in December 2014,  is K-Rose Production’s first feature length documentary. Since I am currently somewhere in the 3rd third of my life, I got inspired to speak to people of all ages about what it means to be “old.” This film is the result.

I enjoyed a wonderful year and a half of videotaping over 70 people of all ages to capture a chronology of the aging process. And my stellar editor, Claudia Ballard of Storyline Pictures, was with me every step of the way to artfully put those interviews together. My teenage goddaughter, Ting Taylor, was coaxed into providing a bit of animation, and James Abdo of BrokenWorks Productions helped smooth out the sound. Thank you team!

OLD?! had a private screening – 68 people attended – at one of the Osher Lifelong Learning classrooms (thank you OLLI instructor and fellow filmmaker Carl Prufer.) Turns out it is not hard to fill a room when you put lots of folks into your film. We were pleased and gratified by the enthusiastic response.

OLD?! is now being submitted to film festivals around the country. We are choosing locations based on interesting places to visit and proximity to family and friends.

We were naturally disappointed to not make the cut for our local Ashland Film Festival, coming up April 9-13, 2015.  We are planning other creative ways of screening the film in our local community. Several screenings at senior residential centers are in the works.

We look forward to sharing our film with its timely topic wherever we can in 2015!
